Competition Authorities Approve Acquisition: Caverion Denmark Acquires GK Denmark’s service business

As part of GK's decision to exit the Danish market, GK Denmark's service business, including Vagns VVS and nearly 200 employees, will become part of Caverion Denmark and take on a central role in the overall organization. With the transfer taking effect on 1st May, the employees will continue their work within a strengthened framework at Caverion.

"We are pleased with the approval from the competition authorities and look forward to initiating the integration process and welcoming new employees and customers to Caverion. Together, we stand stronger and can take on more and increasingly complex projects for the benefit of both current and future customers. GK Denmark's strong position within service adds valuable competencies and a solid foundation that we can continue to build on," says Caverion Denmark's CEO Carsten Sørensen.

Over recent years, GK Denmark's service business has been a significant growth area, delivering strong results and maintaining a nationwide presence. Caverion Denmark is therefore acquiring a well-managed and high-performing service organization.

"We are now taking the next important step in the process of becoming part of Caverion. We have built a strong service business with skilled technicians and close partnerships across the country, and we will bring that foundation with us. I see great opportunities in combining our local strength with Caverion's broader technical platform," says Lars Sjørring, Director of GK Denmark's Service Business, who will join Caverion Denmark's management team.

Strengthened Core Business with Proven Impact
With the acquisition, Caverion strengthens its position within ventilation, cooling, plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety, security, and sprinkler systems. This enables Caverion to bundle multiple technical disciplines under a single agreement and deliver more integrated and holistic solutions. At the same time, GK Denmark's service organization will be combined with Caverion's expertise in technical facility management, including data-driven operations and advisory services. This creates a foundation for measurable improvements in customers' buildings.

"Our ambition is to deliver 10–15% operational optimization through improved use of data, systematic maintenance, and targeted investments. Especially within cooling and ventilation, we see significant potential in working with energy efficiency, indoor climate, and stable operations," emphasizes Carsten Sørensen, adding:
"Our goal is to move customers from standalone service agreements toward more comprehensive and value-creating partnerships."

Shared Direction and Mutual Respect
Both Carsten Sørensen and Lars Sjørring emphasize that the integration will be carried out with mutual respect for both organizations. In Aarhus and Odense, operations will be consolidated in GK's current premises, while in Copenhagen, the combined organization will operate from Caverion's existing facilities in Skovlunde.

"It is important to us that the integration is experienced as a genuine collaboration – not as one organization absorbing the other. We see a clear cultural and value-based alignment, with a strong focus on integrity, quality, and long-term customer relationships, which provides a solid foundation for our collaboration," say Carsten Sørensen and Lars Sjørring.
